Assignments for the Semester

Assignment #1 - E-mail to Mr. Brorson – five sites on the Internet and Web that represent a quality implementation of  eBusiness technologies. Your email link to the site must allow me to jump to the site to examine your choice. It should also include a paragraph or more on each site describing what is unique about the site and why you chose to represent it as a model to be recognized.  You must also be prepared to discuss and present about your choices in class on the due date.

Assignment #2 - Signup for an eBay account and follow three products of your choice, over the period of a week.  Your products must have at least seven days left to accept bids.  Print off the page promoting the product and record the history of the bids each day for the period of the process. Please also prepare an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses you see in participating in an eBay auction as a seller and as a buyer. Be prepared to discuss your analysis in class.

Assignment #3 - AddWeb Promotion. (you can download the software from the CyberSpaceHQ website and use for 30 days to complete this assignment) Choose a small company website of your choice.  Use AddWeb to do an analysis of the website to identify the description, keywords, and other identifying factors.  Create a profile for that company.  Conduct a Page Advisor Analysis.  From that informaion craft a short recommendation on what the company might do to be able to improve it's listings with the search engines of the Internet.

Assignment #4 - Shop Factory Store Building Exercise (you can download the software from the Shop Factory website - click on free demo and download - and use for 30 days to complete this assignment).

Assignment #5 - As we have moved from an industrial to an information economy, business practices have accelerated and now often take place in real time. One significant challenge to business leaders has been the current laws of copyright.

  1. Is it time for Congress to take a significant look at how the emergence of the new economy affects copyright issues? 
  2. Do you support keeping copyright laws the same, or would you like to see Congress change the current laws?

Prepare a paper in response to the above comments and questions. Cite at least four sources in justifying your response.  Your answer should be at least two pages in length, single spaced, Arial 11 pt. type
